This amusing sex comedy follows the fortunes of bartender Greg (played by Lawrence H. Toffler) as he attempts to avoid anything that may disrupt his harmonious life. Unable to form relationships with women and obsessed with winning at his weekly poker game, Greg's life is spun on its head when he is invited to meet a "sure thing" at a party. Deciding to throw caution to the wind for once, Greg meets Aly (Khrystyne Haje) and, after a brief fling, finds his feelings for her becoming romantically charged. But Aly has a boyfriend, and Greg is insecure, leading to a rib-tickling finale to 5 CARD STUD.

Sex, love, life: GREG LAMBERT (Lawrence H. Toffler, North Beach), a risk-averse writer/bartender is afraid of them all. Though his cautious and controlling nature leads to success at his weekly poker games, it also leads to a solitary love-life and constant ridicule from his buddies. One of his poker buddies goads Greg into attending a party where he will meet ALY (Khyrstyne Haje), "a sure thing." Though Aly lives with someone, Greg is told that her always away-on-business boyfriend leaves her lonely, unsatisfied, and very available for a one-night fling. Sure enough, she and Greg wind up having no-strings-attached sex. Unexpectedly, however, they find themselves drawn to one another.
