Pianist Joe Bushkin's light, elegant, but lively style and adaptability found him straddling many decades and styles of jazz, cabaret, pop, and Broadway music, gracing recordings and performances by everyone from Eddie Condon and Billie Holiday to Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby. As he didn't get to do his own albums until 1950, the tracks on this volume feature Bushkin in the bands of other musicians. JOE BUSHKIN: 1947-1950 presents the pianist along with the cream of swing and traditional jazz players: Bobby Hacket (a favorite of young Miles Davis), Roy Eldridge, Buck Clayton, and "Peanuts" Hucko.
