In the late 1970's the young, gifted and black generation of Thatcher's Britain fused the Revolutionary zeal of Punk with their Rastafarian roots to create a new sound system that defined their struggle. Reggae was the savior in their modern 'Babylon' and this acclaimed film charts the birth of urban British Reggae.

Plot Synopsis:

Although reggae originated in Jamaica, it has always had a large British following, and this video traces the beginnings of England's reggae movement. Chock full of interviews and live performances, "Reggae in Babylon" includes footage of Jimmy Lindsay ("It's Not Our Wish That We Should Fight", "Easy"); Matumbi ("Rock"); 15, 16, 17 ("Black Skin Boy"); Alton Ellis ("Diverse Doctrine"); and Steel Pulse ("KuKluxKlan", Prodigal Son").
