It's hard to forget the Earls - Their "Re-mem-mem Remember Then" is one of the most distinctive opening lines of a song in pop music. Formed in 1957 at the Tecumseh Social Club in the Bronx, their biggest hit (Remember Then!) was recorded in 1963 for Old Town Records. Today, the Earls are a popular favorite on the "Oldies" circuit. This compact disc is a comprehensive collection of their recorded material.

This is an expanded and remastered successor to Collectables' much older Earls collections. If the three additional songs aren't enough to justify the purchase, the improved sound will be. The title track is the most recognizable of their songs, but there's a lot else here to recommend owning this CD -- "Never" is, if anything, an even more impressive song with an extraordinary performance by Larry Chance and an achingly beautiful chorus. The only thing missing that might've been nice to hear is "It's You," the original B-side of their debut single. The range of songs includes everything from classics of the theater ("Ol' Man River") to reprises of 1950's standards ("I Believe") to group compositions that showcase their most radiant ensemble work. ~ Bruce Eder

My friend Danny sang with Larry Chance and the Earls. Larry is a really great guy and very much down to earth. Being in the Music Ind years ago you will come across groups and solo artist that have a certain sound. Larry Chance and the Earls have that sound and I can listen to this CD all day long. Great CD and great group of guys!!!

My good friend, John Wray, sang with The Earls in the beginning. He told me about this CD and just for his sake I bought it. Much to my surprise and delight I loved the CD and am completely satisfied. I am a musician and know a little about music and "these guys" are on fire. They harmonize as well as anyone that has attempted to and I highly recommend this CD to anyone with upper-class taste in great music!! !!!!!
