A THOUSAND YEARS OF GOOD PRAYERS: After working on mainstream Hollywood comedies such as MAID IN MANHATTAN and THE LAST HOLIDAY, director Wayne Wang returns to independent dramas with A THOUSAND YEARS OF GOOD PRAYERS. In this film, Mr. Shi (Henry O) comes to the United States to see his divorced daughter, Yilan (Faye Yu). Mr. Shi soon discovers that it wasn't just age and distance separating him from his daughter, and he tries to learn more about Yilan, despite her best efforts.
THE PRINCESS OF NEBRASKA: Wayne Wang (THE JOY LUCK CLUB) directs this drama about a Chinese exchange student living in Nebraska. After a one-night stand in her native country leaves her pregnant, Sasha (Ling Li) is forced to make decisions that will affect the rest of her life.
A THOUSAND YEARS OF GOOD PRAYERS. A woman in her early 40s moves from China to America to start a new life. Her father comes to visit her because of her recent divorce. Their generational and cultural conflicts end up revealing the darker lies and cover-ups within her family during the cultural revolution.
THE PRINCESS OF NEBRASKA. Sasha, a China-born 18-year-old finds herself four months pregnant. She interrupts her studies to travel from Nebraska to San Francisco to determine what to do with her pregnancy. It is a revealing look at a young woman growing up under the new economic prosperity of China over the last 20 years.
