Jerry Johnson drives his roadster off a high cliff to his death. Climbing down the treacherous ravine, Roy Rogers retrieves the body and finds the sheriff waiting. When he proves that Johnson had been shot, he is arrested for murder. Roy manages to escape, and with the law hot on his trail, he must find the real killer, or pay for a crime he has not committed.
Roy is joined by an outstanding supporting cast led by John Carradine, whose long career included roles in many Hollywood classics such as Stagecoach (1939), The Grapes of Wrath (1940), The Ten Commandments (1956) and The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (1962). Also in support are journeyman character actors Dick Wessel (Dick Tracy Vs. Cueball, 1946) and Jerome Cowan, who is best remembered for his roles in The Maltese Falcon (1941) and Miracle on 34th Street (1947).
