An impressionable young beauty, Norma Shepherd, meets Alonzo White, an undercover Secret Service agent, when she takes up residence in a Mississippi boarding house. Norma's arrival also attracts the unwelcome amorous attention of the despised "town boss," Jeff Ballinger. White is actually investigating Ballinger for criminal conspiracy, and Norma must act as bait in a trap he's setting for the dangerous racketeer.

Product Description:

Carl Mahon is Alonzo Smith, a young secret-service agent who falls in love with a schoolteacher named Norma (Starr Calloway) in a small Mississippi town. Later, in New York, Alonzo must save Norma's friend Mary from the numbers racket and is accused of murder. Director Oscar Micheaux made a silent version of this film in 1926 under the title THE SPIDER'S WEB. The film was billed as featuring "An All-Star Colored Cast."
