Rich baritone jazz vocalist Johnny Hartman began as a band vocalist for Dizzy Gillespie and Earl Hines. He went on to enjoy success in a career that spanned nearly 60 years. His work was recently rediscovered when some of his recordings were featured in the film "The Bridges of Madison County." Critics consider the work on this compact disc to be some of his best.
