Featuring 16 great revival tracks from some of the great artists of the 1950s, all recently re-recorded employing state-of-the-art technology. These great vocalists sound as wonderful today as they did way back when.
This collection is subtitled "16 Great Songs From Artists of the 1950s," and that cryptic statement should be read and read again before you plunk down your money. If you're a fan of vocal-group harmony, there's much here to relish, as groups like Earl Lewis and the Channels, Herb Cox and the Cleftones, Richard Blandon and the Dubs, and others sing their hearts out on these songs. However, if you're expecting these to be original 1950s recordings, forget it -- they're all new, stereo recordings, done with whatever personnel in each group is still alive and working the oldies circuit. While the material is enjoyable enough, a little truth in advertising would make this package go down a whole lot easier. ~ Cub Koda
