"...his strength is in how identifiable and communicative his voice is - as such it's hard to imagine anyone else singing these songs as well as he does."
Recorded in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and Nashville, Tennessee.
Ian Tyson's Lost Herd paints nine musical portraits of life in the West. Recorded in Toronto, Calgary and Nashville with those cities' finest musicians, the album captures the loneliness of the plains, long days of summer, and dreams of the Canadian landscape. Songs like "La Primera" and "Brahmas & Mustangs" represent true cowboy culture, while Tyson's cover of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" adds a rustic dreaminess to the classic tune. Lost Herd is a welcome blend of cowboy traditions from yesterday and today. ~ Heather Phares
