In Shangri-La is a reissue of the 1958 album The Four Coins in Shangri-La with the addition of some bonus tracks, which together account for all of the group's Top 30 hits. "Shangri-La" was the group's biggest recording, a soaring example of group harmony that is better-remembered and more widely covered than its number 11 chart placement would suggest. Much of the repertoire that follows is similar to the Four Freshmen-influenced "Shangri-La," but the Four Coins go in directions the Four Freshmen did not, like the mild rock & roll of "Ting-a-Ling Telephone" and the cover of Charlie & Ray's R&B hit "I Love You Madly." In Shangri-La is not a complete greatest-hits collection, but it is an excellent and reasonably generous anthology of their Epic recordings from the 1950s. ~ Greg Adams

I love this group, the harmony, style, and the life they put into each piece is top notch. If you don't like the lead singers style he does't sing that long each time, so don't give up or you will have really missed a good one, even the orchestra is chrisp and alive. t . Enjoy,
Lynn
