Part of Collectables' 1995 series, this brings together 12 tracks originally issued on the Hull label, along with two unissued outtakes. The big hit aboard is the Heartbeats' "A Thousand Miles Away," but gems like Jackie and the Starlites' "I Cried 100 Tears" the Elegants' "Getting Dizzy," Shep and the Limelites' "Our Anniversary" and "It's All Over Now," and the Avons' "Our Love Will Never End" and "You Are So Close to Me" are equally as fine. Selections from the Pastels, the Sparks, the Avons, Rockin' Bradley and the Rockers, the Monotones (including an outtake of "Legend of Sleepy Hollow") and an unissued side from the Desires complete the collection. As usual, no liner notes or recording information -- typical of early shoddy Collectables packaging -- but the transfers are very clean, many of them in real stereo. ~ Cub Koda
