Roulette Records was founded by Joe Kolsky, George Goldner and Morris Levy in New York in 1957. The Heartbeats, The Cleftones, The Edsels, The Five Satins, and The Flamingos are just a few of the Roulette artists you'll hear on this collection.
Spotlite on Roulette Records, Vol. 1: Doo-Wop includes some of the more obscure songs from Roulette's vast catalog. One of the problems with doo wop compilation discs is they tend to feature the same well-known tracks over and over again. That isn't the case with this first volume in the series. Among the 14 tracks are lost treasures by the Martiniques, Darrell & The Oxfords, the Ly-Dells, Tiny Tim & The Hits, and the Domineers. There is a wealth of rare doo wop material just as enjoyable as the hits. On this compilation, the listener gets a second chance to discover some of them. ~ Al Campbell
