Old school rap fanatics might want to seek out Collectables' First Generation Rap, a four-volume series that compiles many rare sides and instrumental versions. Not every track is a bona fide classic, but everything here is of some value, if only for the sake of history. The series definitely has collectors and DJs in mind, since vocal versions are often followed by instrumental or extended versions. The fourth volume features the Disco Four's "Country, Rock and Rap," Ninja's "Crack Attack," Doug E. Fresh's "Just Have Fun," the Pacman's "I'm the Packman," DLB's "It's Magic," Spanish Fly's "Spanglish," and Jazai's "Jaza Funk." ~ Andy Kellman
