Product Description:

The battle for North Africa was one of the most volatile of the World War II theatres, and desert conditions only made the battles that much more difficult. This program examines the battles in two parts, the war in the Eastern desert and the war in the Western desert. The fight was over who would control the Suez Canal, which pitted the British interests against the Axis, and then the Allies had to beat back the Axis from their imperialistic invasions of countries such as Abyssinia. The fight lasted nearly three years, ending when the Axis forces surrendered in Tunisia.
