This brings together 14 of Adam's landmark recordings for the Herald label, kicking off with her gospel-oriented smash "Shake a Hand," still sounding fresh as it did back in 1953. Her other two hits for the label, "Hurts Me to My Heart" and "I'll Be True," are here along with fine non-charters like "Everyday," "Angels Tell Me," and a nice turn on "Anytime, Anyplace, Anywhere." Adams kept recording after Herald, trying to find another hit, and eventually moved back to gospel music, but these are the sides that defined her sound. ~ Cub Koda
