Description by OLDIES.com:
This disc brings together two of the most distinctive R&B groups of the late '50s. Little Joe Cook and the Thrillers had their biggest hit in 1957 with "Peanuts". On this disc, they're paired with an album by the Schoolboys, who many think sound like Frankie Lymon & The Teenagers but it's really the Teenagers who sound like the Schoolboys. A Doo Wop treasure.
Full performer name: Little Joe Cook & The Thrillers/The Schoolboys.
MEET THE SCHOOLBOYS contains six songs by Little Joe Cook & The Thrillers, and six by The Schoolboys.
Liner Note Author: Phil Groia.
Nice mixture of novelty tunes, down-home blues, R&B, doo-wop, and jump material featuring the lightly regarded but good vocalist Little Joe Cooke and the Schoolboys, not a great singing group but a solidly professional one. If this is still in print, it's well worth hearing. ~ Ron Wynn
