Set in the mid-19th century, HIDDEN BLADE follows a samurai named Yaichiro on a journey away from his family and to Edo, Japan. Needed there for work, Yaichiro has no choice but to leave his loved ones behind to be looked after by his close friends and fellow samurais Munezo and Samon. What happens in his absence forms the substance of the film.
