On the run from the law, Billy the Kid and partners Jeff and Fuzzy decide to lay low at a ranch owned by Uncle Jim Blanchard. The trio discovers that Jim has vanished, and that homesteaders have taken possession of his land. Businessman Cobb Allen has been using underhanded means to drive the ranchers off before their mortgage is paid, and then re-selling their property to new settlers. Hoping to help the homesteaders get a square deal, Billy goes after Allen with guns blazing, but his tough guy approach doesn't get him anywhere. Instead, he realizes that the best way to catch a swindler is with a swindle.
Bob Steele, also well remembered for the role of Tucson Smith in numerous Three Mesquiteers pictures, stars here as Bill Bonnie in one of the eight Billy The Kid westerns he made for PRC.
Includes BONUS feature, Matt Clark, Railroad Detective Meets The Apache Kid.
Billy the Kid and his pals stumble on a scheme by Alan Cobb to sell a ranch over and over; once he's made the deal, Cobb diverts the water from the ranch and waits for the poor new owners to default. Cobb's plan seems to be going off without a hitch until Billy the Kid arrives on the scene and befriends the hapless ranchers. This third in the six-film series starring Bob Steele as the famous outlaw again finds Billy the Kid playing hero while running from the law.
This release also includes an episode of the western TV show MATT CLARK, RAILROAD DETECTIVE in which Clark encounters the Apache Kid.
