Description by OLDIES.com:

Irene Roma's life takes an adventurous turn when her injured brother entrusts her with the delivery of a valuable amulet to a Chinese agent in San Francisco. Irene must get the amulet out of Shanghai without running into the greedy russian Sargoza and the vile Fuji Yokahama. American photographer Johnny McGinty saves Irene from being kidnapped by Sargoza and falls in love with the damsel in distress. But even love-struck Johnny never imagines he'll have to marry Irene to get her and the amulet out of Shanghai and away from the clutches of Sargoza and Yokahama.

James Dunn, who stars as Johnny McGinty, won a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his role as Johnny Nolan in A Tree Grows in Brooklyn (1945). He appeared with Shirley Temple in three of her early films: Baby Take a Bow, Stand Up and Cheer, and Bright Eyes, which featured the young star serenading Dunn and his cohorts with "On the Good Ship Lollipop." - Gary and Susan Svehla, Midnight Marquee
