Smooth jazz saxophonist James shares more with Kenny G than just a haircut. Like the notorious Mr. G, he's adept at combining pop, jazz and contemporary R&B. James' sax lines drip lugubriously from his slick, glossy arrangements. Sparkling digital synth and programmed rhythms provide a softly syncopated backdrop for the artist's melodies. These soft, sensual tunes are the aural equivalent of immersion in a hot tub (presumably James' exact intention). If you want daring improvisations or harmonic innovation, you'd be best served elsewhere, but if you're looking for unabashed make-out music, BODY LANGUAGE will fill the bill.
