Guitarist Peter White follows up his 2001 release Glow with more solid melodic smooth jazz on Confidential. Once again there is an amiable mix of quiet storm-ready ballads, up-tempo Latin numbers, and groove-oriented soundscapes. Joining White are such instrumental pop luminaries as trumpeter Chris Botti, keyboardist Brian Culbertson, and percussionist Paulinho Da Costa. While there are no particular surprises here, fans of White's incomparable guitar playing should find much to enjoy on this laid-back disc. ~ Matt Collar
