This live date, recorded in 1987, features Brazilian music icon Antonio Carlos Jobim paired with Tropicalia diva Gal Costa. Jobim's gravelly voice might sound a bit worse for wear compared with his recordings from the '60s and early '70s, but RIO REVISITED still pleases with its offerings of classic Jobim compositions such as "One Note Samba," "Desafinado," and "Wave." Accompaniment from a large ensemble, and the contributions of the dynamic Costa, make this an engaging listen through and through. The set was remastered and reissued in 2008.
