Postal investigator Tom Whitlock (Tom Tyler) arrives in Deadwood County posing as "The Hawk," an escaped convict who is trying to retrieve a fortune in stolen government bonds he buried years before. Deadwood is the hideout for a ruthless gang of outlaws led by the notorious Butch Cassidy (Slim Whittaker), who is also determined to get his hands on the hidden loot. Meanwhile, the real escaped convict heads for Deadwood and the race to grab the booty becomes infinitely more dangerous.
