Tarzan fights to keep a young woman out of trouble as she accompanies her parents and cowardly fiance on a trek through the dangerous African jungle. Eleanor Reed's father is out to capture exotic animals for an exhibit, and while the Reeds and their guides hunt for suitable specimens, local despot Ben Ali Bey plots to capture Eleanor and add her to his harem of trophy wives.

In keeping with the athletic legacy of former Tarzan, Johnny Weissmuller, this independent Tarzan sequel stars Olympic swimmer Glenn Morris as the King of the Apes, with the "Jane" role filled by fellow swimming champ Eleanor Holm.
