This series includes unique footage plundered by Russian troops in 1945. Compiled as it is from German newsreels which were made under the influence of Goebbels' Ministry of Propaganda, this volume deals with the third part of the year 1944. It covers events on all the German fronts including: Home Front - Hitler Youth armed and on parade and the call-up of Germany's home guard; Western Front - the bombardment of southern England from Germany with the new V2 rocket missile; and Eastern Front - the retreat from Riga, the recapture of Chelm.

In lieu of presenting a factual and unbiased portrait of Nazi Germany during World War II, the A NEWSREEL HISTORY OF THE THIRD REICH series actually consists of distorted propaganda footage, shot and edited by the Nazis in such a way that it was intended to give German citizens a more glowing picture of the Reich's progress and development in the Second World War. The footage was collected by the Russians in 1945 and now appears, edited together, in this unique series. This 19th volume covers September-December 1944, with such pivotal events as the training and marching of the Hitler Youth, General Irwin Rommel's funeral, Germany's bombardment of southern England with the notorious V-2 rocket missile, and the retreat from Riga on the Eastern Front.
