One of Ismael Miranda's avant-garde efforts, the vocalist (with the assistance of Jorge Millet and a big band setup) throws in everything but the kitchen sink for the sake of excitement. A rabid guaguancą (the title song), three intricate, fast-paced boleros, a ballad ("Como Mi Pueblo," composed by Wilkins) are just part of the aggressiveness of the production. Underrated in its time, but compellingly brutal, just like most of Jorge Millet's oeuvre. ~ Jos? A. Est?vez, Jr.
