Pirates on Horseback: (1941) Hoppy's sidekick, California, learns that his only known kin was killed because he refused to disclose the location of his gold mine to a gang of thieves. Hoppy and Lucky agree to help California go after the killers and locate the secret mine.
Borrowed Trouble: (1948) When the town's fiesty schoolmarm is kidnapped, Hoppy and his sidekick California Carlson have their hands full. In addition to searching for the missing woman, trying to find her abductors, and getting caught in the middle of a feud between two rival saloon owners, Hoppy and California also take turns as substitute teachers in a classroom full of unruly kids.
Dangerous Venture: (1947) The intrigue of an ancient Aztec curse and the scheming of a crooked cattle rancher provide Hopalong Cassidy and his pals Lucky and California with more than enough trouble in Indian Territory.
False Colors: (1943) Bud Lawton, a young cowhand friend of Hoppy's is killed after making Hoppy, Jimmy and California equal partnbers in his two-thirds inheritance share of the valuable Diamond Hitch ranch. When the new partners travel to the ranch to claim their share and find Bud's murderer, they discover an imposter has arrived to claim Bud's share.
The Devil's Playground: (1946) A beautiful young woman involves Hoppy and his sidekicks, Lucky and California, in a desperate search for stolen gold hidden in a rugged canyon called The Devil's Playground. The search gets more perilous when Hoppy finds a dead man who has scrawled a map and an urgent message on a rock using his own blood! To make matters worse, an incompetent sheriff, a crooked judge and his murderous henchmen are after Hoppy and the gold.
