When Commodore Matthew C. Perry (Boone) travels to Japan in 1854 from the U.S., it's a turning point in the history of these two countries. A treaty is signed and to commemorate the new alliance, the Japanese Shogun presents Perry with a gift: the samurai sword known as the Bushido Blade. However, many Japanese are unhappy with the treaty and a secret faction organizes the theft of the Bushido Blade. When the Blade is discovered to be missing, two American sailors and a Japanese samurai team up to comb the Japanese countryside to find the missing sword.
