Hovering over the village of Samar is the Mountain Of Death, ruled by bloodthirsty creatures who demand the sacrifice of a young girl every full moon. The Queen is unmoved by the people's pleas for protection and they turn to Hercules to end the slaughter. The hero discovers that living within the mountain are a colony of evil Moon Men, giant stone monsters with superhuman strength determined to rule the world and enslave humanity. In her thirst for power, the Queen has betrayed the people and joined forces with the aliens, adding the might of her army to their brutality. As they close in on Hercules, he rallies the villagers in an uprising against their merciless oppressors.
In this 1964 low-budget sci-fi Italian/French co-production, Greece's favorite mythological strongman (Alan Steel) must save the earth from a vampire queen, her legions of magical moon men, and some big rocky robots.

Campy Fun
Movie Lover: Jeremy from Miami, FL US -- November, 10, 2004
If you're an old Hercules movie lover like me, you'll appreciate the loving care with which this creeky (though still fun) movie has been transferred to dvd.
This was the first one from Alfa/Oldies.com that I have watched, and I am impressed.
The movie is given the full treatment, with very nice cover art and original trailer and access to all lobby cards and stills.
I will be buying more.
The plot is basic for the genre--an evil, sadistic queen is bent on conquest of everybody, including Hercules.
Everyone suffers a lot.
The dubbing is atrocious, but sword and sandal folks are very familiar with such.
The Moon Men show up toward the end--they're a stiff bunch, and Herc knows how to dispatch them.
Not the best Hercules, but indespensible for collectors.
