Description by OLDIES.com:
This collection of the World War II-era propaganda series "Why We Fight" features three installments on one disc.
The Battle Of Britain (1943, 53 mins.): An account of Great Britain's last stand against the forces of Nazi Germany, and the hard-fought but successful battle to maintain both air superiority and Britons' morale.
The Battle Of Russia (1943, 83 mins.): Covers Russia's historic resistance to invasion, how those qualities were called upon in the war, and their determination to win against the seemingly invincible forces of Nazi Germany.
The Battle Of China (1944, 63 mins.): Discusses China's history and it's people who use all their resources to oppose Japan's aggression, as well as why the Japanese want to conquer it.
Prior to achieving immortality with his Christmas classic IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE, director Frank Capra made a series of World War II propaganda films used to bolster support for the American war effort. Decades later, the seven-part series, known as WHY WE FIGHT, remains lauded as much for its cinematic artistry as for its patriotic messages. This collection presents the last three volumes of the acclaimed series: THE BATTLE OF BRITAIN, THE BATTLE OF RUSSIA, and THE BATTLE OF CHINA.
