Description by OLDIES.com:

Still recovering from the tragic death of his fiancée, Jeffrey (Robert Young) finds happiness again when he meets his new neighbor, Ellen (Betsy Drake). The two quickly fall for each other, even though death and destruction comes to everything the man loves. Afraid that she will meet the same violent death as those around him, Jeffrey begins to push her away. The young woman discovers that these fatal "accidents" are actually deliberate acts and his doctor suspects that Jeffrey is suffering from mental illness and is committing the murders in a self-destructive blackout. Unable to believe that he is capable of such brutality, Ellen chases through a labyrinth of deceit to discover the motive behind the killings.
