"Escape To Ponderosa": Three men take sanctuary in the Ponderosa after escaping an army prison because of an overbearing commander. When the officer arrives, Ben immediately dislikes him, but reluctantly helps look for the men anyway. Guest Starring: Joe Maross, Gloria Talbott and Grant Williams.

"Badge Without Honor": Gerald Eskith, a hired killer posing as Deputy Marshal, arrives looking for Jason Blaine, claiming he is a witness in the Murdock gang trial and must travel to Sacramento with him. Guest Starring: Dan Duryea, Fred Beir and James Hong.

"Death At Dawn": When a local shop owner is murdered by one of Sam Bryant's men, the Cartwrights and sheriff are determined to try and hang him. But Bryant is just as determined to keep his stranglehold on Virginia City. Guest Starring: Robert Middleton, Gregory Walcott and Morgan Woodward.

"The Gunmen": In a small Texas town, Little Joe and Hoss are believed to be the Slade Brothers, a pair of gunslingers hired to kill local man Hans Hatfield. Landon and Blocker play dual roles in this episode. Guest Starring: Henry Hull, George Mitchell, Douglas Spencer and Ellen Corby.

"Desert Justice": When a U.S. Marshall shows up at the Ponderosa accusing favored ranch hand Dave Walker of the murder of his wife, Adam and Hoss accompany the two to make sure Dave makes it to trial alive. Guest Starring: Claude Akins, Wesley Lau and Fintan Meyler.

Blood On The Land": Despite warnings not to, a sheepherder on his way to California pushes his herd through the Ponderosa. Ben wants to force him off, but Adam is convinced there is a better way. Guest Starring: Everett Sloane, Ray Daley and Ken Lynch.

BONANZA, a sprawling western television series, featured wealthy Nevada rancher Ben Cartwright and his three sons--Adam (Pernell Roberts), a two-fisted gunfighter; Hoss (Dan Blocker), a huge and good-hearted strongman; and Little Joe (Michael Landon, later of LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE), a brawling young hothead. This compilation includes seven episodes. In "Blood on the Land," one of the screen's finest actors, Everett Sloane (CITIZEN KANE) portrays a rogue shepherd using the Ponderosa's grassy meadows to feed his hungry sheep. When he's told to leave, he kidnaps Adam in an attempt to ransom the deed to the entire ranch. In "Escape to Ponderosa," three frightened Army deserters (James Parnell, Grant Williams, and Joe Maross) assault Little Joe, leading Ben and his sons to assist a savagely sadistic Army captain (Chris Alcaide) in apprehending them. In "The Gunmen," a sheriff (Henry Hull of 1935's THE WEREWOLF OF LONDON) mistakes Hoss and Little Joe for two lookalike gunslingers who've been hired by the feuding McFadden patriarch (Douglas Spencer) to gun down his enemy Hadfield (Jonathan Gilmore). "Badge Without Honor" features Dan Duryea in the story of a supposed "Deputy Marshall" intent on bringing a friend of the Cartwrights to testify as a witness in a trial, but Adam has his doubts and accompanies them. In "Death At Dawn," a gang leader kidnaps Ben in order to exchange him for a convicted killer. "Desert Justice" presents Claude Akins in the tale of a man suspected of killing a marshal's wife and subsequently beaten while behind bars.
