Virtuoso Pianist Kenny Drew, Jr. is Jazz royalty. His legendary father recorded seminal albums with John Coltrane and Dexter Gordon. Kenny Jr. is one of the great players of his generation, having working with Stanley Turrentine, the Mingus Big Band and others, and recording several discs as a leader. On Coral Sea, his first trio album in years, he is joined by swinging bassist Jon Burr and Marty Morell, Bill Evans' longtime cohort. With a mix of beguiling originals, standards and inventive takes on jazz repertoire, Coral Sea is possibly Kenny's best recording.
