Night Caller is a gritty detective story of life and death in the neighborhood of Miami's backyard: South Beach.

Fred Williamson plays Mack Derringer, a hard-nosed private eye who has a hard time keeping out of trouble. Mack is enlisted by his ex-wife (Vanity), a phone-sex operator, to find the masked psychopath who brutally murdered her co-worker and now stalks her. With the aid of partner Lenny (Gary Busey) and his best friend Jake (Peter Fonda), Mack closes in on the psychotic killer.

But the killer uses guile and cunning to send Mack off his trail by framing him for the recent murder involving a member of the Mob. Mack must prove he is as ruthless as any hood, if he is to escape the grasp of the Mob, while preventing the maniac murderer from continuing his wild killing spree.
