Personnel: Charlie Feathers (vocals, guitar).
By the time rockabilly legend Charlie Feathers cut the first of the sides that appear on UH HUH HONEY in 1968, the initial rockabilly craze was long over. The next one was still more than a decade away. As he had for more than a decade prior, Feathers rocked on obliviously, no doubt convinced that good music is good music, regardless of current trends. Sure enough, while many chart hits of his era are forgotten and gone, labels such as Norton make a point to preserve Feathers' genius. Fans have plenty of reasons to give thanks-to the man whose faith created these sides, and to the label that has dedicated itself to keeping Feathers' memory alive.
UH HUH HONEY collects 28 recordings, including numerous long-out-of-print studio tracks and five songs from a rare television appearance. The record is the perfect supplement to either Zu Zazz' ROCK A BILLY or Revenant's GET WITH IT, career overviews containing the best of Feathers' legendary Sun and King sides. UH HUH HONEY may lack the "hits" of these packages, but it matches each note for note in energy and emotive wallop.
