Plot Synopsis:

LORD JIM is based on Joseph Conrad's 1900 novel about an adventurous 19th-century Englishman who sets out to prove himself in the jungles and islands of the Far East. Full of romantic visions of life at sea, he joins up with a merchant vessle and fails his first test of bravery, deserting the ship in a terrifying storm. Jim is wracked with guilt and anguish until he has the chance to regain his honor by leading a native rebellion against a cruel general on a small East Asian island.
