4 Movies on 2 Double-Sided Discs!
The Savage Guns (1962, 84 mins.): In Sonora, in a lonesome valley near the border of Arizona, former Confederate officer Mike Summers tries to forget about the horrors of the war of independence on his farm. His hopes of peace and vow of anti-violent behavior are challenged when a gang of villains, led by brutal gunman Danny Pose, ravage his small town. A glimmer of hope appears when a wandering gunslinger, Steve Fallon, comes into the picture. However, Fallon soon realizes that he may not be able to handle the bad guys alone.
The Proud Rebel (1958, 103 mins.): After seeing his home destroyed in the Civil War, a young boy (David Ladd) goes mute. He and his father, a stubborn southern widower (Alan Ladd), travel the breadth of the Great Plains searching for a cure. When they get into a scrape, a farm woman (Olivia De Havilland) takes them in and finds a way to communicate with the boy.
Molly & Lawless John (1972, 98 mins.): A shy, romance-starved wife (Vera Miles) of an arrogant frontier sheriff finds herself drawn to a prisoner (Sam Elliott) in her husband's jail. The handsome young outlaw plays on her sympathy and convinces her to help him escape. She accompanies him on a cross-country flight, but soon learns he's been using her all along.
The Young Land (1959, 89 mins.): Unusual sagebrush saga starring Dennis Hopper as a rebellious gunslinger in 1848 California whose trial for killing a young Hispanic tests the American system of justice in the newly formed state. Dan O'Herlihy, Yvonne Craig star; produced by John Ford's son, Patrick, and co-starring John Wayne's son, Patrick.
