Performers, Cast and Crew:
Pete Rose was one of baseball's greats. A holder of the all-time record for career hits, he continued his long association with the game by becoming the manager of his former team, the Cincinnati Reds. However, he became more infamous than heroic when, in 1989, Major League Baseball banned him from their organization for gambling on the outcome of league games. Tom Sizemore plays Rose in the ESPN original film HUSTLE, which chronicles the final weeks of Rose's career, as his gambling became increasingly desperate and the league began to suspect his activities. The tenacity with which Rose played the game earned him the nickname "Charlie Hustle," and eventually caused his downfall, as gambling became an addiction that he could not recover from. HUSTLE was directed by Peter Bogdanovich (THE LAST PICTURE SHOW).
