Television executives plugged into viewer's deepest fears with the debut of TALES FROM THE CRYPT in 1989. Its original source material being the EC comic-book, the series originated on HBO, and would go on to run for seven seasons. Hosted by the skeletal Crypt Keeper himself, each episode of the show offered a new, ghoulish tale to give its audience nightmares. The show was such a success that a myriad of CRYPT-inspired spin-offs resulted, including an animated series, several feature-films, and seemingly infinitesimal merchandising opportunities. A popular favorite among horror film fans, TALES FROM THE CRYPT also appeals to anyone who loves the strange and visceral thrill of being scared.
