Product Description:

The British mystery series GEORGE GENTLY stars Martin Shaw as the title character -- a slightly cantankerous, widowed London detective solving cases in mid-1960s Northumberland, England against the backdrop of the first hints of social change. An iron-willed character who relies on his wits and seldom questions his own judgment, Gently scarcely needs assist, but nevertheless gets partnered up with John Bacchus (Lee Ingleby), a caustic young police sergeant.
