"Few have ever said goodbye with the dignity of Warren Zevon."
A documentary about the making of the Grammy nominated album "The Wind," Warren Zevon's final recording.
When Warren Zevon was told he had terminal cancer, and was given three months to live, he made two unprecedented and extraordinarily brave choices.
The first was to write and record the album that ultimately became the critically acclaimed release "The Wind."
The second was to allow a VH1 film crew unfettered access to those recording sessions, as well as to many other aspects of his radically altered life.
This footage became a groundbreaking episode of VH1's documentary series "(Inside)Out," which debuted on the network on August 24, 2003.
All of the guests featured on "The Wind" appear in the special: they include Billy Bob Thornton, Bruce Springsteen, Don Henley, Dwight Yoakam, Jackson Browne, Joe Walsh, Ry Cooder, Timothy B. Schmit, Tom Petty and Tommy Shaw.
Also included is footage from "The David Letterman Show" on which Zevon is the only guest.
When rock musician Warren Zevon was diagnosed with terminal cancer and given only months to live, he decided to write and record what would be his last album, the critically acclaimed THE WIND. Zevon also allowed a VH1 crew to film the album recording sessions, footage of which became a moving episode of VH1's documentary series Inside/Out. This release features the VH1 special in its entirety, capturing Zevon in his final act of artistic endeavor along with friends and colleagues Bruce Springsteen, Don Henley, Ry Cooder, Tom Petty, Joe Walsh, Jackson Browne, and many others.
