Writing, producing, and playing all instruments is a daunting task for anyone, but young James Intveld handles the responsibilities like an accomplished veteran, while projecting a good deal of charm and personality into each song. He's transparently influenced by Elvis Presley, but a number of songs are updated somewhat by an atmospheric ambience similar to that of Chris Isaak, although without the sleek production of an Isaak album. "Kermit Vale" is the surprise, a black, almost Irish folk song, which reveals that Intveld's heart is clearly not restricted to revival rock & roll. ~ Jim Smith
