A television talent coordinator who's content to stay single until the right guy comes along suddenly meets the man of her dreams--or so she thinks. He's rich, handsome and available, but, with his jealous ex-girlfriend, a pushy mother and a tendency toward obsession, she soon discovers the truth of the old adage "You can't judge a book by its cover."
Like most single women, Martha Alston is looking for her soulmate. She thinks she finds him in Whitman Crawford, a handsome, charming man who -- at first -- appears to be Mr. Right. But before you can say "Fatal Attraction," Whit begins exhibiting very disturbing behavior, such as shoplifting for the fun of it, and deliberately breaking his finger to prove his love for Martha. Naturally Martha backs off, but unfortunately, Whit is now obsessively in love with her. As a result, he becomes a perpetual presence in her life, with his bizarre antics causing her constant chaos and embarrassment.
