Unfortunately, if a woman wants to compete in a man's world, sometimes she needs to work extra hard to earn respect. From one listen to JUST WON'T BURN, it's obvious that blues guitarist and vocalist Susan Tedeschi is prepared to go that extra mile. As a guitarist, she can blow away most of her male counterparts. Whereas your average blues guitarist is content to rely on cliche and testosterone to get by, Susan brings an original voice to the scene.
It's her voice that truly sets her apart though. Reminiscent of Janis Joplin, she sings with a grit and passion that belies her youth. The confidence with which she belts out the up-tempo numbers commands attention. And on the ballads "Looking for Answers" and "Just Won't Burn," she gets deep inside the emotion of the song and delivers it with a sincerity that is devastating.
