Gritty and realistic, Naked City

"Prime Of Life": Police Detective Adam Flint contemplates his profession while he witnesses the execution of a criminal he arrested, and a young reporter (Gene Hackman) struggles with his own reaction.
"Hold For Gloria Christmas": A poet (Burgess Meredith) who sold a bartender (Herschel Bernardi) his poems desperately wants them back so he can mail them to a woman named Gloria Christmas.
"The One Marked Hot Gives Cold": Two lost souls, 31 year-old L. Francis Childe (Robert Duvall) and 12-year-old Agnes Padgett, meet in Central Park and form a friendship that is tainted by a woman Childe spurned.
"A Horse Has A Big Head": A teacher of near-blind children (Diahann Carroll in an Emmy-nominated role) inspires one boy to find his own way home through New York City, trapping him in a nightmare.
