A double feature by American auteur Orson Welles: THE TRIAL and THE STRANGER. THE TRIAL is a terrifying psychological thriller based on the classic novel by Franz Kafka. An ordinary man is wrongfully accused of a crime he didn't commit, and is never even made aware of it. He is arrested and then released, only to then report to court on a regular basis. The case goes on and on, with no final resolution to this false accusation, making him worry about his outcome. THE STRANGER is about a Nazi hiding out in small town America posing as a schoolteacher. A Nazi hunter tries tracking him down and realizes that his only hope of finding the Nazi "schoolteacher" is his fascination for antique clocks. Soon, the Nazi "schoolteacher" starts to feel insecure about his past and senses something bad is about to happen.
