When a horse-better's marriage is threatened by his gambling ways, his desperate wife concocts a scheme whereby she becomes his bookie. Suddenly he goes on a winning streak and the mob goes after her to eliminate their competition.
Lawyer Steve Flood keeps losing money by betting on horses at the racetrack... until his wife, Melanie, comes up with a clever scheme to hold on to their dough.
Melanie secretly becomes her husband's bookie and manages to get hold of all the money Steve intends to use for his betting. However, her plan runs into trouble when Steve and his partner bet on a few long shots -- long shots that actually wind up winning. Suddenly, Melanie has to come up with a way to raise thousands of dollars in cash to pay them what they've won... and prevent her husband from finding out what she's been up to.
