The setting is Shanghai in the late 1920s and the Chinese people are sorely oppressed by their Japanese rulers. A rival Japanese martial arts master has poisoned Bruce Lee's "sifu" (a martial arts school master). Lee leaps into his sifu's grave and onto his coffin clawing and crying, overcome with grief. A martial arts expert himself, Lee is determined to seek vengeance upon the sadistic brutes that slew his Kung Fu instructor. Many action sequences provide a breathtaking view of Bruce Lee's amazing fighting skills. He uses a series of disguises including a rickshaw puller and a grinning phone repairman as he systematically takes out the entire school. Bruce Lee stands defiant to the end.
Chen Zhen returns to the international compound of China only to learn of his beloved teacher's death. This is compounded by the continual racist harassment by the Japanese population in the area. Unlike his friends, he confronts it head on with his mastery of martial arts while investigating his teacher's murder. -- Description provided by TMDb
