2012 release from the former Animals vocalist. At His Best contains a selection of 18 highlights from the Animals' recordings for MGM through his solo Capitol Recordings. Hailing Newcastle upon Tyne during 1962 and 1963 when Eric Burdon joined the Alan Price Rhythm and Blues Combo, they were dubbed 'animals' because of their wild stage act and the name stuck. The Animals' moderate success in their hometown and a connection with Yardbirds manager Giorgio Gomelsky motivated them to move to London in 1964, in time to be grouped with the British Invasion. Burdon's howling vocals and the dramatic arrangements of the material created arguably one of the finest bands of that period. Scoring over 15 chart hits with the Animals, before hitting again as a solo artist and with War. This expanded edition of his greatest hits, clearly shows Mr. Burdon is in the Rock 'N' Roll Hall of Fame.
